FAQ
1. What if my children don’t cooperate?
I know how unpredictable little ones can be, and I welcome that energy with patience and understanding. Kids being kids is exactly what makes your photographs honest and full of life. I use gentle guidance, play, and flexibility to help them feel safe and free to be themselves.
When preparing your children, I recommend skipping reminders to “behave” or smile for the camera. Instead, tell them you’re going somewhere fun to spend time together with a new friend—who just happens to have a camera.
2. What should we wear?
Don’t worry—I’ve got you covered. You’ll receive a style preparation guide with guidance on colors, coordinating your family, and choosing pieces that photograph beautifully. I’ll also be available to help along the way, with a thoughtfully curated client wardrobe for mamas and little ones.
Most importantly, you’ll still look and feel like you.
3. Where will our session take place?
I’ve carefully scouted a collection of beautiful locations and created a location guide to help us find the setting that best fits your family and the feeling you want for your photographs. I’m also always happy to consider a place that already means something to you—including your own home.
4. Is professional hair and makeup available?
Yes! Professional hair and makeup can be added to your experience upon request and availability. I currently work with a wonderful NYC-based artist who can travel to you, allowing you to feel cared for and beautifully prepared before your session even begins.
5. When will we see our photographs?
Your photographs will be ready approximately three weeks after your session. We’ll then meet for your viewing appointment, where you’ll see your finished images and begin choosing the photographs and artwork you’d like to preserve.
6. How do we choose our artwork?
You won’t have to figure it out alone. During your viewing appointment, we’ll meet virtually or in person to look through your photographs together and select the images you’d like to preserve within your chosen collection. I’ll guide you through your options for fine art prints, albums, and wall artwork so you can choose what feels right for your family and home.
7. Are digital images included?
Digital images are available and are included with select collections. Because each collection is thoughtfully designed a little differently, we’ll go over exactly what is included before you book so you can choose the experience that best fits your family.
8. How far in advance should I book?
I recommend reaching out at least three weeks in advance, though earlier is always encouraged—especially during busy seasons. Your experience is meant to be thoughtfully planned rather than rushed, giving us time to choose your location, plan wardrobe, and take care of all the little details without added stress.
