They are the portraits you may frame for your home, send to grandparents, and look back on when your children are older.
I will always make time to create them. But your family’s story does not have to begin and end with everyone looking at the camera.

It can take place somewhere your family loves, whether that means an open field, the beach, a favorite neighborhood, or the home where so much of your life happens.

I will guide your family into the light, help everyone feel comfortable, and create the photographs where you are all together and looking toward the camera. From there, we can gently move into moments that feel more relaxed.
That is when I begin watching for the way your family naturally interacts.
I am looking for the way your child reaches for your hand, the way siblings make each other laugh, and the way you look at the people you love when no one is asking you to smile. I am preserving movement, playfulness, comfort, and the little expressions that belong to this particular season of your family’s life.
Let children be children
Children do not always stand still or follow every direction perfectly—and they do not need to.
They may become distracted, make silly faces, wander away, or suddenly need to be held. Those moments do not mean that your session is going badly. They are part of photographing a real family.
You do not have to spend the entire session worrying, correcting, or asking your children to behave for the camera. I will offer gentle direction while giving them space to settle in and be themselves.
Make room for a little fun!
If your family chooses to include something fun, we can create the more formal portraits first. Then everyone can relax without worrying about a little sand, grass, water, flour, or melting ice cream.
A little mess does not take away from the beauty of your photographs. Sometimes, it is exactly what makes them feel honest.

Your final gallery can hold the portrait where everyone is smiling toward the camera, the quiet photograph of your child curled into your arms, and the joyful image that immediately reminds you how your family laughed together.
